BOROUGH residents will have the chance to find out more about how policing in the area works when Essex Police host an open day at Grays Police Station early next month.

The event will happen on Sunday, 3 September and the station will be open from 10am to 2pm.

PC Neil Brand expalined the event, saying: "It ia an opportunity to see some of our specialist officers and vehicles and find out what they do.

"There will also be officers from your community policing team who will be on hand to talk about local policing.

"We'll listen to you and do our best to answer questions you have about policing where you live.

"We can also let you know what we're doing to keep people safe and catch those intent on causing harm to our communities.

"We'll be able to offer advice and tips on staying safe, and if your concern isn't a police matter, we'll let you know who will be able to help.

"We hope to see you there."
