NEW equipment is being planned for a park in Thurrock where vandals struck last year and set light to existing equipment.

And residents in East Tilbury are getting a chance to have an input into what is put in place at Gobions Park in the village, which was hit by the vandalism last year.

The Friends of Gobions Park are inviting comments on their Facebook page about the different designs on offer.

They say: "We are pleased to announce that it looks like we are getting some new play equipment for the park from Thurrock Council.

"With the shortlisted options available please let us know which one you would prefer to see installed in the park. To try and keep it simple the options with be referred to as 'Blue' or 'Green' with blue being the first image and green the second.

"Let us know which one you think the children would like or us your children."

The forum's poll will run until Wednesday, 2 February.
