A SOUTH Essex man whose wife was supported by St. Luke's Hospice for over two years is encouraging the local community to support the charity so others can receive the help they need. 

Damian has shared how he and his wife Karen were supported by the Hospice after Karen was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer at the age of 35.  

Karen and Damian met in London in September 2017 and were engaged the following year. It was while Karen was trying on wedding dresses in February 2019 that she spotted a lump in her breast and tests revealed it was Triple Negative breast cancer.  

As a registered charity, St. Luke's Hospice is reliant on support, such as donations, fundraising and gifts in Wills, to enable the continued provision of specialist services, which help people in the community, like Karen and Damian.   

This summer, you can help St. Luke's Hospice by making a donation which will enable the charity to continue providing care to those who need it, when they need it most. 

For the first time, you can also remember a loved one in support of St. Luke's Hospice by dedicating a beautiful ironwork forget-me-not garden decoration this summer. All forget-me-not dedications received will be included in a special Memory Meadow display at the Thurrock Hospice Open Gardens event on Saturday, 13 July.

The display will remain until Thursday, 1 August, after which you have the options to keep your flower – by collection from the Hospice or to be posted to you.
