Overnight incident ment bridge closure

IN the early hours of this morning, the Dartford River Crossing was closed as emergency services attended concerns for the welfare of a woman.

The incident was reported to police shortly after 1.20am. 

A statement from Essex Police says: "Thanks to person who made the report, we were able to respond quickly and begin engaging with the woman.

"The bridge remained closed while the incident was brought to a safe conclusion and the woman was left in the care of health professionals.

"The road was re-opened shortly after 4.30am.

"Thank you to all motorists who were affected by the closure for your understanding and patience."
