EVERY year scouts all over the world renew their promise in April.
That normally means a host of parades across the globe - but this year it's different because of coronavirus.
Nevertheless tomorrow (Sunday, 26 April) scouts will be renewing their promise and across Thurrock there will be many ceremonies completed by digital media as troops come together in conference calls.
However, just to remind everyone of what normally happens, Thurrock Nub News is delighted to rerun a video of last year's borough parade in Grays from Hathaway School to Blackshots.
Scouting in the borough remains strong - and many packs recently celebrated St George's Day.
Celebrating St George
Among them were Rainbows and Brownies from the 4th Stanford-le-Hope units, together with Guides & Rangers from the 2nd Corringham Unit. And Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 2nd Corringham Scout Group were invited by their leaders to join the 'National' celebration of wearing their uniforms on St George's Day whilst clapping for the NHS at 8pm last Thursday (23 April).
Several of the young people took part, they wore their uniforms with pride, while clapping outside their houses for the usual Thursday applause.
Parents then posted pictures of their young people on the Group's facebook page. We are pleased to share them across wider Thurrock.
Several Leaders and Young Leaders (from both organisations) also joined in.
