SMOKE from a major field fire in Rainham is drifting across West Thurrock this evening ( Wednesday, 29 July).

The source is a blaze at Spring Farm Park where emergency services have been deployed in numbers to combat the flames.

Firefighters are asking local residents to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke being produced by the fire.

If you are driving through smoky areas, keep your windows wound up, air vents closed and switch off air conditioning systems to prevent drawing in outside air.
