Older adults, their families and carers living in Thurrock recently attended an afternoon of entertainment, workshops and information about local support services.

The Older People's Community Mental Health team (OPCMHT) in Thurrock hosted its annual Positive Wellbeing Day at Grays Town Park.

The event brought together a range of local health and care services, charities and community organisations which support older people and their families including Thurrock Libraries, MIND Thurrock and Brentwood, Home Instead and Thurrock Carers Service.

Visitors were able chat to representatives about the work they do and how they can help.

As well as information stands, the afternoon featured live entertainment, including a choir from Arts Outburst singing popular hits and a modern Indian dance performance by Veena Storm.

Adrian Putt, a Senior Practitioner in the OPCMHT, said: "This is the event's fourth year, with the aim to create a healthy space and to grow people's well-being and fitness in mind."
