JUST 18 months from opening, Party Crown in Stanford-le-Hope is set to close its doors for its final time.

In August last year Thurrock Nub News reported on the venture launched by owner Maxine English as she celebrated the opening of 'Party Crown' at 4 Rayleigh Road.

However, Maxine has announced that the store will be closing its doors for good on Saturday, 30 September at 6pm due to her ongoing health issues.

Maxine has a major operation coming up in October which she only found out about three weeks ago herself. She will miss out on the boom of Halloween and Christmas which usually brings people queuing at the door.

It's another blow for Maxine, who has suffered traumatic times during the past decade – problems that started when she encountered domestic violence in March 2011.

Where she suffered significant injuries including a broken back, for which she is still being treated for even now after all this time. With each day being a struggle and ongoing pain.

However, Maxine never let that stop her. During her many months of healing in 2011 she lay there recovering from her pain and developed a business plan for Party Crown to keep her brain active and stopping herself falling into depression.

In 2014 she went back to college for a year and studied chemistry, physics, biology, forensics Level 2 diploma and re-took her maths and English. Maxine did this to regain her confidence back mentally and help her physical body recover from her past trauma. In 2016 she had a choice of going into medical science or put her business plan to good use.

Party Crown was born in April 2016 after opening her first store in Lampits Hill. Fate stepped in and after three years she had to close due to having major surgery.

However, Maxine didn't give up and persued the business from home and online when she could.

While in another period of recovery from surgery, Maxine felt inspired to write a book about her life experiences after going through so much in her life.

She wanted to help other people through what she had been through herself and wanted to help people overcome each step themselves.

What best way to get the word out there than becoming an award-winning speaker, broadcaster and author. speaking her past traumas on stage, radio interviews and You Tube channel "Unlocking the fearless you" and putting her book titled 'Broken, Abused and Left for Dead' on Amazon. It has proved an inspiring read for people who have suffered from abuse, bullying and illness amongst other catalysts in life that could put you in a downward spiral.

But that wasn't to be for Maxine she pushed through every day to make her life better even after being told she is unemployable.

With Maxine's new found confidence she was helping people through their issues with life and confidence coaching. However, the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and she couldn't go ahead with any more plans of moving forward.

So again, she went back to college in the interim to study Level 3 psychology and sociology. After being accepted into Westminster University Maxine had a dilemma. University or opening the shop back up.

Weighing up the pros and cons of Maxine's health issues that opening another shop up was the best option for her so she could take time off if needed. She also helps people who come into the shop to talk and they also buy her autographed book while there too.

But again, the legacy of her injuries has taken its toll and after suffering from many health problems this year further remedial surgery was moved forward to this October and has forced her to close again.

Party Crown is currently selling all stock with reductions of 50% and will be closing its doors for its final time on Saturday, 30 September at 6pm.

Maxine said: "I am grateful for the support of all my customers over the years. I've enjoyed helping people putting their special event together and helping them through their own trauma and issues through talking therapy and coaching when they needed it most.

"The best thing in life is helping other. This comes in all different ways in life. Helping others heal also helps us heal".

With the last few days approaching residents have the opportunity to buy from a huge selection of varied items at the Rayleigh Road store in preparation for Halloween, Christmas, Easter. All with a 50% discount.

Maxine adds:"Come on down to Party Crown at 4 Rayleigh Road Stanford-le-Hope SS17 0NE. Open every day this week only, 10.30am till 6pm. Grab yourself a bargain as everything must go!"
