Pick-up teams were on the job to highlight borough's community spirit

By Nub News Reporter 23rd Jun 2025

A LITTER-picking event that stretched from Coalhouse Fort to Grays Beach at the weekend has been hailed a big success.

It was the last in a month-long series of events organised by local Freemanson Lodges and was run with the help of local community group Grays beachcombers.

Freemasons spokesperson David Barton said: "It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout, with friends, family, and members of the community coming together in support.

Members of the team at Coalhouse Fort.

"A special thank you to the local litter-picking group, the Grays Beachcombers, whose presence highlighted the spirit of community involvement and shared purpose.

"The day truly reflected the power of unity and local engagement."
