ORCHARD Community Forum volunteers in Grays were out and about this morning (Saturday, 8 March) for their monthly alley clean - this month clearing the alleyways around Benson Road.

In total, 11volunteers gave their time and collected a huge amount of rubbish.

Local councillor, John Kent, who regularly joins these sessions each month said: "It was great to see so many people out this morning giving their time to make the area a little better.

"Thanks also to the Grays Town Park Cafe who gave all the volunteers a very welcome drink when we finished."

The Orchard Forum alley clean takes place on the second Saturday of each month - the next is on Saturday, 12 April, meeting at 9am at the Kent Road entrance to the Whitehall Lane allotments, everyone is welcome to join in.

The pick will finish by 10.30am and volunteers will head to the Grays Town Park Cafe for a well-earned drink.
