Police appeal after man was assaulted in Tilbury

POLICE have issued an appeal for information after a man was assaulted in Tilbury.

The force have reported: "We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service to reports of an injured man in Dock Road, Tilbury, shortly before 2.40pm yesterday (Monday, 28 February).

"We arrived and found a man aged in his 20s had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital for treatment to facial injuries.

"No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing. We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.

Police confirmed that, contrary to some local social media reports, the victim was not stabbed.
