POLICE have issued some details of a serious incident in Grays which has resulted in a man being arrested.

And, after officers spent a night keeping watch on a taped off area where it happened, they have issued an appeal for information.

A statement says: "A 51-year-old man from Tilbury has been arrested following a serious sexual assault in Thames Road, Grays.

"The incident was reported to us shortly after 10.05pm yesterday (Tuesday, 22 March).

"The victim is being supported by specialist officers and our enquiries are ongoing.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.

"We are particularly keen to speak with a white female, who was wearing a white coat and has an eastern European accent.

"It is believed she may have come into contact with the victim in the area of Thames Road, near to Seabrook Rise, between 9 and 10pm yesterday.
