A CAR being pursued by police officers hit another police vehicle in a dramatic incident in Stanford-le-Hope last night (Tuesday, 17 December).

Police had been alerted shortly before midday with reports that a recovery truck had been stolen from outside an address on Brock Hill in Runwell.

A silver Sabb, thought to be linked to the theft, was later seen in Corringham shortly before midnight. The driver failed to stop when asked to by officers and collided with a police car on The Manorway.

The car was pursued onto Manor Road where it collided with another police car before driving towards Stanford town centre.

The car was followed onto Corringham Road, where the occupants got out of the car and ran off.

No arrests were made.
