Police closed A13 and diverted traffic to deal with incident

POLICE have explained why the A13 was closed and traffic diverted while they dealt with an incident last night (Saturday, 27 November).

A statement from Essex police said: "We were contacted shortly before 5.45pm with concerns for the welfare of a man on a bridge at the Orsett Cock roundabout on the A128.

"Officers engaged with the man and he was brought to safety, before being taken to hospital."
