Police closed road to deal with dangerous dog incident

POLICE have confirmed details of an incident last evening (Monday, 6 January) when a woman was injured and taken to hospital after being bitten by a dog

It happened in Gainsborough Avenue, Tilbury. Police said: "We were called shortly before 7pm after it was reported a dog was behaving dangerously inside a property and a woman had received a serious arm injury.

"She was taken on to hospital for further care. 

"The dog was secured and an investigation is ongoing."

Thurrock Nub News understands from official sources that the dog is of a Bullmastiff breed.

Neighbours reported the road was closed while the operation was carried out with officers taking up strategic positions in gardens around the house.
