Police dealing with unexploded bomb threat in Grays

POLICE are currently dealing with a piece of unexploded ordnance discovered in Lodge Lane, Grays.

Officers were called to the discovery shortly before 4.25pm today (Friday 19 May).

It is believed the ordnance is a World War II shell.

Bomb disposal experts have taken the ordnance to another location nearby to safely dispose of it.

A statement from police to residents said: "If you hear a loud bang, please do not worry."
