Police enquiries ongoing after two men are hurt in road rage assault

A ROAD rage incident in Tilbury escalated into a violent confrontation that left two men requiring hospital treatment.

The incident happened around 9pm on Monday evening (14 August) close to Civic Square near the junction with St Chad's Road and Montreal Road.

A police statement says: "'We were called shortly after 9pm following reports of a collision and an assault.

"Two vehicles were involved in a minor collision. Two men were then assaulted following a verbal argument. Both men were taken to hospital with serious injuries not deemed to be life-changing.

"Enquiries remain ongoing an no arrests have been made at this stage. Anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact us quoting incident number 1449 of 14 August.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "An ambulance was sent to the scene and transported the patient to Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital."
