Police get order to stop car gatherings

A DISPERSAL order has been put in place in Thurrock following information that a car meet is to take place this weekend.
The dispersal order areas covered, in the west of the borough, are shown in the maps.
It starts at 6pm on Saturday 4 May and is in place until 6pm on Monday, 6 May.
Dispersal orders give officers extra powers to direct anyone they suspect of causing disorder or anti-social behaviour away from the area.

Anyone who does not follow that direction could be arrested.
Inspector Terry Fisher said: "The order has been put in place to ensure the safety of everyone in the Thurrock area by minimising the opportunity for crime and antisocial behaviour to be committed.
"We will take robust action to deal with anyone who causes disruption that affects our residents and businesses."
