THURROCK Police have responded to public concern after a group of people riding scrambler and quad bikes were filmed travelling at speed and somewhat recklessly in Corringham Town Park.

Film clips showing the riders pulling wheelies and riding at speed across grass and paths were published on a number of social media platforms on Tuesday (25 March).

Today (Thursday, 27 March) police took to social media with the following message: "Following recent reports of nuisance bikes and scramblers in the public parks ofStanford-le-Hope and Corringham, your dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team officers were out on patrol yesterday to address these concerns.

"Their presence aimed to deter disruptive behaviour, provide reassurance, and gather valuable intelligence.

"With the lovely weather this week, local parks were bustling with families and teenagers enjoying the play areas, green spaces, and skate park.

"Everyone deserves to use these spaces without fear of off-road bikes causing disturbances or driving dangerously."

Police also made a plea for people to submit any evidence, including film clips, to them, adding: "Seen off-road bikers causing a nuisance? Send us your videos: http://esxpol.uk/d7uKZ

"Together, we can ensure our parks remain safe and enjoyable for all."
