Police officers in search on town estate but residents assured there is no major incident

The scene this evening on Thors Oak.

A NUMBER of police vehicles and officers, including dog handlers are in the Thors Oak area of Corringham this evening taking part in a search.

Officers are manning strategic points in a triangular area, also close to Silvertown Avenue, and Collins Close has been closed off.

Some residents have expressed concern about a lock of knowledge about what is happening, but officers on the scene at 9.40pm say they should not be alarmed and offer reassurance.

A statement has been requested from the force HQ.
