Police probe Stanford car attacks

POLICE have confirmed they are investigating a number of incidents of cars being vandalised in Stanford-le-Hope.

Residents have told of several instances of an air rifle being used to shoot out windows, including one attack on a lorry.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We have received eight reports of cars being vandalised in Stanford-le-Hope.

"One was reported in Corringham Road on 9 September and seven were reported on 10 September in The Sorrells, Springhouse Road, Andersons, Churchill Crescent, Butts Lane, Rayleigh Road and Victoria Road.

"All the vehicles had windows damaged.

"Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information and CCTV or dash cam footage is asked to call 101 or report online here.
