Police recover stolen car and make arrest

A man has been arrested and a stolen car recovered following a burglary in South Ockendon.

A Ford Fiesta was taken from an address in Gatehope Drive between 10.45pm on Thursday last week (28 September) and 5.30am on Friday (29 September).

Shortly after 9.25pm yesterday (Sunday, 1 October), officers identified the car was being driven along Manor Way in Corringham.

They managed to bring the vehicle to a stop and arrested someone inside.

A 21 year-old man from Grays has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle. He is currently in custody.

Police have launched an appeal for information, saying: "Our investigation into the burglary is ongoing and we need anyone with information to contact us.
