THURROCK Police have reported two successes involving stolen cars, even though one of the vehicles was involved in a crash while being pursued.

Its driver was arrested.

A statement this morning (Friday, 31 December) from Thurrock police said: "Officers from our Operational Support Group had a suspected stolen Range Rover from Harlow make off from them last night in Purfleet only to crash off road, suspect arrested.

"Working with others and our Dog Section they also found a recently abandoned stolen Range Rover from the West Midlands area in Purfleet and arrested a male nearby.

"Enquires are on going in both cases."

The force has also issued a link to its website offering crime prevention advice for car and vehicle owners. Click here.
