A MAN has been arrested in South Ockendon as part of an investigation into the supply of Class A drugs and modern slavery offences.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested early this morning (Thursday, 27 November) and is being questioned in custody.

It comes after a number of community concerns were reported to police.

DI Tom Whelan-Basset said: "I want to reassure our communities that their concerns about anti-social behaviour and drug dealing have not been ignored.

"Whilst we're not able to share any specific details on this investigation, I hope this enforcement shows that we have acted decisively.

"We will continue to act on intelligence from residents and work tirelessly to disrupt those who we suspect to be exploiting others and bring harm to our neighbourhoods."
