Police search after man is reported with gun proves fruitless

A SEARCH for a man reported to be carrying a gun proved to be fruitless.

Police were called at around 8.10am yesterday (Tuesday,23 June) following a report that a man had been seen with what was believed to be a firearm on fields off Leicester Road, Tilbury.

Officers attended the scene and carried out a search of the area but could not find the person described. Enquiries are ongoing.
