A SEARCH that took place in Corringham for a nine-year-old girl this evening has reportedly had a successful outcome.

A police statement issued just after 6pm today (Tuesday, 2 November) said the force was looking for the youngster and they put out an urgent appeal for help after being alerted to the disappearance of the girl, last seen in the Herd Lane area.

"We're worried about her and need to find her to make sure she's ok," said the force just after 6pm this evening.

Within the hour it was being reported by family members on social media that she had been found safe and well. Police have since confirmed the girl is safe and well.
