Thurrock Nub News carried a picture of the man with a statement saying: "Do you recognise this man? We're appealing for information or witnesses following a report of an attempted burglary at a property in Wellington Road, Tilbury, on Tuesday 25 May at around 8.05am.

"We would like to speak to this man in connection with our investigation.

"If you recognise him, please call us."

A later statement says: "We are no longer looking to identify a man we wanted to speak to in connection with an attempted burglary at a property in Wellington Road, Tilbury, on Tuesday, 25 May at around 8.05am.

"Arrangements for a voluntary interview of a 39-year-old man will be made in due course."
