Police seek witnesses to late night village hit and run and collision in town centre

POLICE have issued an appeal for help as officers investigate two separate incidents in which pedestrians were in collision in a car.

One is a late night collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in East Tilbury.

It happened in Princess Margaret Road at 11.55pm on Saturday, 26 October near the junction with Halt Drive. The driver failed to stop at the scene.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the collision.

A police statement says: "We do not have a description of the vehicle so we appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any footage to contact us.

"If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in touch and quote collision reference number 1518007 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.

The second incident happened on Church Hill in Stanford-le-Hope on Church Hill, Stanford-le-Hope on Friday, 1 November. 

It was reported that that a blue Ford KA was in collision with a pedestrian, at around 7.25pm.

Officers arrived and a man in his 60s was treated for serious but non-life threatening or life-changing injures.

Officers from Essex Police's Road Policing Unit have been working to establish what happened and would like to speak to anyone who saw, or has camera footage, of the incident.
