AS anticipation of a relaxation of lockdown rules grows another popular Thurrock business is about to reopen its doors.

The King Street Bakery in Stanford-le-Hope initially remained open when restrictions were first imposed but announced on 4 April that it would be closing.

However, customers have welcomed news that the independent private retailer is to fire up its ovens again.

A statement from the bakery says: "We would like to let all our customers know that King Street Bakery will be reopening on Monday, 11 May. We will be open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 2.30pm and on Saturday from 7am to 2pm.

"We look forward to seeing you all then."

The news comes on the day (Tuesday, 5 May) that another popular business in the east of the borough reopened. See report here.

Roddy's Sunny Fruits stall will once again be loading up its shelves in Corringham. See Listings
