Purfleet will be lit up

AN event that will 'Light-Up Purfleet-on-Thames' will take place around the local community and at High House Production Park later this month.

It will take place on Friday, 17 March and has been organised by the Grays-based arts organisation, Arts Outburst.

It will feature a lantern parade around Purfleet, ending at High House where the light festival will take place from 7pm.

Students from South Essex College will be among those walking too. Local residents and groups are invited to join professional performers taking part

Residents are also being encouraged to create their own lanterns - details of how to do so are available on the project's Facebook Page. DIY Kits are available at Purfleet Community Hub.

The light festival will include creative workshop opportunities, light installations, community art displays, professional performances, refreshments and more.

The event is the successor to light-up events held in five borough communities over three weeks in 2022 - but this year it has been condensed into one event.

Volunteers are being sought to help marshall the event. You can find out more by contacting Arts Outburt on 01375 386247 or emailing [email protected]
