THURROCK is battening down the hatches in preparation for Storm Eunice which is expected to bring severe weather conditions to the borough.

A number of travel restrictions will be in place from early tomorrow (Friday, 18 February).

They include:

The QEII Bridge at the M25/A282 will be closed tomorrow from 5am.

Ensign Bus has suspended the X80 route.

Thurrock Council's scheduled clean-up in Grays High Street has been cancelled. A statement from the authority says: "The clean-up operation scheduled to take place in Grays High Street between 10am and 2pm on Friday 18 February has been rescheduled because of the severe weather warning in place for the South of England.

"Council officers taking part will instead be on stand-by to deal with any issues that arise as a result of Storm Eunice."
