POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash in South Ockendon last night (Sunday, 22 March) which claimed the life of a man.

Officers were called at just after 9pm following reports of an incident in Cherwell Grove, South Ockendon.

A quad bike had hit a lamppost and its driver, a man, suffered multiple injuries. Despite the best efforts of paramedics he died at the scene.

An investigation is now underway and officers would like to hear from any witnesses who saw the quad bike in the moments leading up to the crash or who saw the crash. It is thought the quad bike may have been attempting to overtake another vehicle in the moments before the collision.
