Quarter of a million views - and still rising fast! You can be a part of the Nub News success story too

JUST 76 days after launching in November Thurrock Nub News has recorded its 250,00th page view!

The landmark continues the rising impact of Thurrock's only solely borough-based news website which has provided more than 500 news and sports stories since going live.

We have broken several highly important and exclusive news stories, highlighting major issues that affect Thurrock residents – but we are also about the smaller, equally important news at the heart of our community. The editor's favourite story of the day can be accessed via the red button below - that's what we are all about!

A community is a jigsaw of opinions, decisions, events and occurrences and everything fits together on our digital platform with news, views and events from Purfleet in the west to Corringham in the east.

It comes to you for free and unlike other platforms, we do not get any revenue "per click" so we do not need to resort to click-bait, annoying pop-up ads or surveys.

Our aim is for the user to access locally-relevant content in a pleasant viewing format. As well as news we offer What's On, Classifieds, Property, Jobs and Live Travel.

And we want you to help us be the true voice of the Thurrock community. This isn't our news and information website – it's yours. We want to give a platform to all across the borough.

We want to promote local causes and businesses. We want to encourage people back on to the High Street.

Importantly, our business model relies on your input; be it News or What's On. Our "Nub It" button on the website enables local people to contribute regular articles.

We also encourage businesses, theatres and restaurants to post events to our What's On page. Be it the local theatre company or a £10-steak-for-two night at the local restaurant, we want to promote it. All for free.

Thurrock Nub News is the perfect platform for your organisation, charity, business, church, school, sports team - anyone in fact - to share your fantastic achievements with the community. We like good news stories.

You can post directly to our site via the "Nub It" link on the home page. All submitted content requires a legitimate name, email and telephone number and is moderated by our editor before going live.

Your can also upload your own events directly on to our What's On page via Nub It button. It's really easy and completely free.

With a quarter of a million pages already read, our story is just beginning. Please join us to add to our content – or simply enjoy being informed by Thurrock's leading and impartial news service. We've got your back and together we will help take Thurrock forward.
