Re-engage celebrate volunteers' week

MEMBERS of the borough community who support the Thurrock Re-engage charity got together earlier this week to celebrate Volunteers' Week.
Local co-ordinator Loraine Coleman said: "We are celebrating Volunteers week and saying the biggest thank you to all our fabulous Thurrock Re-engage volunteers. Thank you to those who could make our meeting where we had lots to discuss and plan for the future.

"Thank you all for your generosity of time, thoughtfulness, kindness of heart and spirit, compassion, friendship and true dedication. You are all so very precious
"We are so very grateful to you all for reducing loneliness and isolation with our elderly residents in Thurrock.
"You have changed lives and brought friendship and companionship to our very special tea party guests. Sending much love and best wishes to you all. "
Loraine added: "Loneliness can hit at any time of life, but for older people, it can be especially hard. Volunteer with us to help us to continue to create warm and welcoming free tea parties where older people can feel safe, valued and cared for while enjoying companionship.
"Only 4 hours a month on a Sunday. A small amount of your time gives so much pleasure to our elderly Thurrock residents. Come and join our wonderful, dedicated team."
If you are interested, contact Loraine on 07468 573500 or email [email protected]. You are very welcome to come along to one of the tea parties and meet guests and volunteers.
