Pupils from TipToe Stage School, one of Thurrock's most established theatre groups, brought home Gold and Bronze medals from the Dance World Cup performing with associated group: Elite Acro Dance Associates.

Based in South Ockendon, three pupils - Reed Cooke (9), Lillie-Ella Morris (13) & Megan Bristow (13) - were selected to represent the country in the 2023 Dance World Cup.

Held in Portugal, countries from across the globe have been competing and Reed Cooke came away with the 3rd place trophy.

Along with this accolade, Reed was also scouted to dance as a guest performer with another school, Berkshire Dance Academy, who were crowned world champions gaining Gold in their Acro group dance.

Commenting on the success, TipToe Co-Principal, Elena Carter - Watts said: "What an achievement! Reed and Lily-Ella flew out first last Wednesday and we were getting updates from them taking part in the opening ceremony parade with the other countries. Seeing the England flags being proudly waved was a real moment for all of us at TipToe. We couldn't be prouder of them.

Principal Julie Carter also commented: "We told them the most important thing was to have fun and enjoy every single moment. And that mantra underpins everything we do at TipToe. But for Reed to come away with two trophies for her country is mind-blowing. She is such a hard - working and committed dancer that always tries her best at everything she does. And that applies to all of pupils who we're very fortunate to have.

"All three girls also performed in two more dances during the coming week".

There's no rest for the school, as this weekend sees a large troupe appear at the Karis May Darling festival and rehearsals are about to start on Tip Toe's next main show which is being held at the Towngate Theatre in April. All of this is alongside exams, competitions, festivals, and filming.

TipToe offer classes in all genres (by a fully qualified and DBS checked team), for all ages and all abilities. So, if you're interested in finding out more, please visit www.tiptoestageschool.com

Offering a free taster lesson, pupils are free to take as many or as few classes as they wish. The leadership team know that some people love doing everything and some purely come for the classes. Everyone is welcome!
