THURROCK Council will be remembering the victims of Srebrenica at an annual event again, later this week.

The 1995 genocide saw more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys lose their lives, and thousands of women and families devastated.

Next Thursday, 11 July at 10am, Thurrock Council will hold a 'Remembering Srebrenica' event with a special flag raising ceremony at the Civic Offices.

There will be a minute's silence at 11am to mark the anniversary of the genocide.
