Residents express concern after gates are rammed

CONCERNS has been expressed by residents in Chadwell St Mary that an access gate to a public open space has been rammed and wrecked as a prelude to an illegal incursion onto the land.

The gate to the Heath Field was rammed overnight.

Thurrock Council officers have rsponded and put up a temporary barrier but fears have been expressed on social media that they will not prevent any planned incursion. Ward councillor Sara Muldowney has raised the issue and says she will 'be pushing for a permanent solution tomorrow (Monday, 4 April).
