Residents get chance to liaise with council and maintenance companies over Grays homes issues

By Neil Speight 16th Feb 2022

RESIDENTS in South Grays' tower blocks will get the chance to quiz council officers at two Q&A sessions this week - assuming the council sticks to it promise to turn up.

Last week residents from Lionel Oxley House were invited to a residents' meeting, but the council failed to show until late in the day.

Now two days have been set aside for dialogue between residents and Thurrock Council, housing contractors Mears and Axis, the company responsible for the much delayed and botched refurbishment work on the six blocks.

Residents are invited to attend the Community House on New Road between 11am and 5pm tomorrow (Wednesday, 16 February) and Thursday (17 February).

The council says its community support team will be on hand to cover a wide range of issues.
