HOUSEBUILDER Bellway hosted a 'meet the neighbours' gathering for new residents at its Maple Creek development in Fobbing.

Homeowners, family and friends enjoyed a barbecue which took place in the garden of The Harper showhome.

Samantha Norman, Sales Manager at Bellway Thames Gateway said: "It was a pleasure to host the residents at Maple Creek. The sun was shining, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, including sales staff who loved chatting with residents about their experiences living at the development.

"We hope this event will lead to the formation of lasting friendships and look forward to hosting the next social event at Maple Creek. These are a great way of bringing people together and helping to define a communal spirit.

"Wherever we build new homes, communities are a focal point of our work. We want residents to not only feel like they belong at Maple Creek, but also as part of the wider village of Fobbing.

"Additional community outreach like our recent sponsorship of the Show Me Love festival that took place in Brentwood from 4 to 6 August provide opportunities for all locals – whether they live in a Bellway home or not – to make the most of the great place in which they live."

Bellway Thames Gateway is delivering 168 new homes at its Maple Creek site, off High Road. These include 109 properties for private sale and 59 affordable homes being made available through low-cost rent or shared ownership.

Maple Creek has been designed to be a sustainable development, with all homes benefitting from high levels of insulation and a majority having solar PV panels installed on the roof, which is set to generate 20 per cent of the energy required by residents.

In order to protecting the local environment and promote biodiversity, half of Bellway's site will be developed into green open space and wildlife ponds.

There's currently a choice of two, three and four-bedroom houses available to reserve at Maple Creek, with prices starting from £375,000.
