A GOOD cause is going to benefit from the generosity of a Stanford-le-Hope restaurant which is planning to give a share of its proceeds to charity.

Gino's Taverna is a family-run Italian restaurant on the side of the Railway Tavern on King Street and it has invited nominations for a worthy charity or local organisation it can support.

The restaurant's Simon Renoldi said: "We are looking to raise some money for a local charity or group during the last few months of lockdown as we know how tough these times have been for everyone.

"We raised, along with the Railway Tavern, £256 from the sale of face masks during the last period we were open and we still have this money to put to good use

"We will add to this by donating a £1 or £2 from every takeaway/collection order we receive in the next few weeks and any monies matched by our customers. This will run until 2 April." Gino's has already received a number of nominations fo benefit from the money raised.

You can find out more about Gino's and browse its menu via its Facebook page here.
