A REVAMP is planned for one of the borough's most popular fast food venues.
The McDonalds restuarant adjacent to the ASDA store at Tilbury on Thurrock Park Way will get a new look, including new entrance and an extension to its patio area, if plans submitted to Thurrock Council are approved.
However, the council's Highways Department has raised some concerns about the plan, including flooding risks.
A comment on the application says: "Having reviewed the documents submitted for application the proposal description included in the Application Form document states 'Patio area to be extended with hardstanding to match existing'. However, the Flood Resilience and Resistance Statement word document states 'no extension is proposed at the restaurant'. Can this please be clarified."
And the highways departmjent adds: "A Flood Risk Assessment needs to be provided as per the NPPF, considering the site lies within a CDA and in Flood Zone 3. This should also include how any increase in surface water runoff is planned to be mitigated.
"Could you please confirm that there is a Flood warning and Evacuation Plan (FWEP) for the site, as the site is in Flood Zone 3? If there is one could you please confirm it is up to date; if you do not have one, could you please produce one as part of this submission."
The full application can be viewed via this link.
