Road closures for Remembrance Day

A NUMBER of roads will be temporarily closed on Sunday (9 November) to facilitate Remembrance Services across Thurrock.

In Grays, from 10am to 11.45am, Hogg Lane from Hogg Lane Roundabout through to Orsett Road with its junction with Derby Road, will be closed to ensure the facilitate the Grays Remembrance Day Parade happens safely.

Once the parade has passed Morrisons Car Park Exit, the road closure will be reduced to enable vehicles to exit the car park and travel northbound.  

The gated access within High Street leading to George Street will be opened to allow the parade to pass through.   

In Stanford-le-Hope, The Green, High Street, Central Road and Church Hill will be closed for the duration of the Remembrance Service from 10.30am until 11.45am.

High Street, Aveley, from Ship Lane to Park Lane will be temporarily closed from 10am to 11.30am in order to facilitate the Aveley Remembrance Day Parade.

In Horndon on the Hill, Orsett Road - between its junctions with High Road and Francis Close - will be closed from 10.45am to 11.30am for the service at the war memorial outside St Peter and St Paul's Church.

A final closure will take place on Sunday afternoon in Chafford Hundred from Warren Primary School on Gilbert Road to the junction of Griffin Road, Griffin Road from

its junction with Gilbert Road to the junction with Rainbow Road, including Kershaw Close, for a parade and service. The closure is from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
