Updated: Road closures lifted after serious accident is cleared.

ROAD closures caused by a serious crash in South Ockendon this afternoon (Saturday, 10 April) were in place for several hours after a serious crash. Unofficial reports say it included a fatality of a young person.

The closures were put in place by Essex Police following a a serious collision involving a car and a motorbike on Stifford Road, which was closed in both directions, and Foyle Drive.

The incident took place shortly before 1.40pm (Saturday, 10 April) and in the immediate aftermath a police statement said: "A man has suffered serious injuries."
