THURROCK Council planning officers have vetoed a bid to build flats on top of the shopping parade in Corringham.

Nub News reported last month on the application to build two flats on top of the existing building on Grover Walk.

A decision has now been made and the applicants have been told permission is refused.

Officers say the flats would have harmful effect on the appearance of the building.
