THE Rotary Club of Mardyke Valley's Santa sleigh will be out and about in Aveley once again on Tuesday, 20 December.

The run will start at 5.30pm on the Aveley by-pass estate, from Bellhouse Avenue, near the roundabout.

There has been more praise for Rotarians from on the the charities they support.

Over the weekend the sleigh was out in Satnford-le-Hope on the Maple estate, helped by volunteers from the Katie's Heart appeal charity.

Charlotte Davies from the charity said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to Paul Luke and the Rotary Club of Mar Dyke Valley for coming to Maple and Stanford Park with the sleigh, and for their continued support.

Some of the volunteers with Father Christmas.

"We had a brilliant night!!! Thanks to Joe Davies, Katie Marie, Lisette Reed, and Kay Cowcher for volunteering and walking the streets in the freezing cold and ice. Unfortunately Rotary were six team members down last night but those who were there all did an excellent job.

"Thank you to all the residents for coming out in the cold to see Santa! The response was amazing."
