TONIGHT (Thursday, 24 February) will see the last in a number of consecutive overnight weekday closures of the Orsett Cock roundabout as part of the a13 widening project, but before things ease of motorists and residents are reminded of a weekend closure coming up.

This week's closure for resurfacing week will be followed by a full weekend closure from 9pm Friday, 25 February to 5am Monday, 28 February.

In addition to the roundabout closure, all feeder roads will also be closed, including:

  • A128 Brentwood Road closed in both directions between Orsett Road, Horndon and Orsett Roundabout
  • A13 eastbound entry slip road closed
  • A13 westbound exit slip road closed
  • A1013 Stanford Road closed in both directions between Voujon and Orsett Roundabout (Voujon remains open)
  • Brentwood Road closed in both directions between Welling Road and Orsett Roundabout
  • A1013 Stanford Road closed in both directions between Rectory Road and Orsett Roundabout (Recycled in Orsett remains open)
  • A13 westbound entry slip road closed
  • A13 eastbound exit slip road closed
This is likely to bring considerable congestion in adjacent villages on alternative routes including Orsett, Horndon on the Hill, Linford and Chadwell St Mary. The A13 itself will stay open in both directions over the weekend.
