RESIDENTS on the Bonners estate near Orsett have taken it upon themselves to smarten up the local environment.

The approach to the estate, which is accessed off the A128, features a small roundabout and residents felt it was time it got a spruce up.

A spokesperson for the residents told Thurrock Nub news: "To make the entrance to the Bonners estate more attractive some of the ladies on the estate had organised planting flowers and bulbs on the centre of the roundabout.

"Not to be outdone it was suggested by one of the guys that the men should arrange to jet wash the brickwork and now it looks great.

"Thanks to everyone who helped and the two households nearby who supplied us with power, water - and tea!"
