A THURROCK councillor has reminded borough resdients they still have an opportunity to comment in a consultation on the state of the borough's roads.

East Tilbury councillor Fraser Massey was speaking following an overnight operation to repair one of the major roads in his ward, Cooper Shaw Road in West Tilbury.

The road had become badly damaged, largey as it is a main route for heavily loaded lorries taking material to a scrap processing plant close to East Tilbury.

Thurrock Council says: "Last night (Wednesday, 24 September) our team was out to carry out some emergency repairs on part of the carriageway.

"The immediate issue has been resolved and we're currently reviewing other sections of the road to see if further work is needed."

Cllr Massey welcomed the initative and added: "It's a good time to mention we are close to the last chance to have say on highways standards and maintenance in the borough.

The council's consultation wants your feedback, saying its is 'vital in helping us understand how well our highways are maintained, your needs, and where improvements are most needed'."

The survey closes on 29 September. Share your views via this link: https://orlo.uk/6mS4d
