WOOLLEN soldiers and service representatives, including some new recruits, have take up their posts in Grays in preparation for next month's Remembrance services.

The knitted servicemen and women, in a variety of uniforms represented all branches of the armed services, are knitted by Sabine Oakley, wife of Thurrock Royal British Legion president Rod.

She first placed her creations on bollards around the Grays war memorial last year and this year has added more to the collection that stand guard around the cenotaph and flag.
