THE team at a Thurrock hair and beauty salon have been celebrating after winning a top award.

Buffs Hair & Beauty Bar, which is on Southend Road in Grays, celebrated its third anniversary last month and on Friday capped that celebration when they were awarded the best Essex beauty salon at the English Beauty awards – hosted at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton on Friday (26 November).

The salon was established by owner Leigh-Anne Turpin from Stanford-le-Hope in October 2018 and, despite all the problems caused over the past 18 months by Covid, it continues to blossom and has already won a number of awards for the work of Leigh-Anne and her team.

She has been nominated for many awards this year coming top 10 in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards awards earlier this year with nominations in the categories of entrepreneur of the year, best colour salon and spotlight salon of the year.

Leigh-Ann paid tribute to her staff – and customers who helped vote her to the latest success, saying: "It's been a tough year with a world pandemic. So lucky to have my salon still open when so many other business have had to close.

"Thank you to all my amazing clients and staff."
